Hey all,

I’ve installed from source on Chrubuntu and lubuntu, and linux 15, all fb.

But recently on an upgrade to Mint 17, I ran into an issue.

When installing and configuring fltk, terminal wouldn’t recognize "enable-shared”.

And the install ended up making things a little flakey, as the desktop kept going to fallback mode. fldigi ran, but the whole system seemed a little unstable.

In the end, I went to Synaptic and downloaded fldigi from there, then updated it from w1hkj’s site. All working well, including the gui environment.

So is there the possibility of a typo in the wiki, or am I going to be reminded of yet another dumb thing I’ve done?

I wrote the wiki entry for Mint 17. Did you copy/paste the instructions
for installing fltk ? What version of fltk did you install ? I've done 2
installs
of 17, my old box took a lightning hit. I had no problems installing
fltk using the instructions on the wiki.

Was 17 a fresh install ?

Yep, a fresh install.

I’ve reinstalled fltk again, using all copy and paste and get a
configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: -- enable-thread

At the beginning and end of the operation. What I got before.

The version is 1.3.2

I got the same....missed it during ./configure

configure:9519: WARNING: unrecognised options: --enable-thread

But the configure log has 2013 lines of output. Still had no problems at
all with building fldigi from source. I'll edit the how-to and make the
needed corrections.

I'm actually several versions ahead of .83 and still no problems.

Mint 17 is rock solid and fldigi/flrig just work.

What can I do to get you up and running as you would expect.

I’m actually up and running now, so it’s all good - I just had that odd problem the first time, and the fallback mode on Video. Been stable ever since I installed from the repository, then updated to the latest version.

Just have to build the other fl apps now.

Thanks for the help Ed.
