I am using this with HRD/DM780 but with the Windows flidigi it won't perform rig CAT for either HRD or RIG CAT. Also, has anyone had success using this in linux flidigi?

I see that it looks as though no one has stepped up to the plate. I'm
not much help with the M$ part, but lets see what we can do with Linux.

First of all does Linux even see this device ? Open a terminal and see
what this tells you ::

lsusb

If it shows in the results, then the next thing is, does fldigi see
this device. In the configuration tab for rig control it should be
listed as /dev/ttyUSB0. In the audio tab it should show as a usb codec.

If you are still having trouble getting this set up, provide a little
more details of your "adventure".

Thanks Ed,

I have since been successful in getting RIGCAT to work in fldigi in both Windows and Linux.

HAMLIB - no luck in both cases, but it might just be the config. file for my rig (IC 756 PRO III).

The microHAM soundcard and USB both show up in Linux as you described above. The microHAM has a USB hub so one can set up virtual USB ports for different discrete functions, such as PTT, but not sure how to go about using these in Linux as they don't have any drivers.

Anyway, I have CAT and soundcard going so will continue to see how to use the microHAM USB hub in Linux.

I would venture to say you have overlooked something in Hamlib. There
are just too many of them out there not to work.

I believe that the virtual port drivers are not open source, and
therefor not adaptable to Linux or fldigi. But, I just looked at the xml
for the Pro3 and it supports PTT. Go back to the rigCAT tab and check
the CAT command for PTT and see what results you get.

I am having the same problem, but with MacPro Laptop running OSX 10.6. Am trying to use a Keyspan (19HS) serial/USB adapter to connect to the serial port on Yaesu FT-450.

When I plug it in I get this message from OSX:

New network interfaces have been detected.

The following network interfaces have not been set up.

Keyspan USA-19H
Keyspan USA-19H

To set up interfaces use Network Preferences.

If I choose that it attempts to set up a modem with a dialup device.

I am new to MAC as well as fldigi (3.13AZ)

Any help anyone could provide would be much appreciated and richly rewarded.

We have several knowledgeable OS-X users on the list. Hopefully at
least one of them will step up. I keep hoping for a Mac, but....

Wish I could help.

Ed,

You don't want to set up a network on the usb to rs-232 ports so set these to none or other.
Finish the connections to the rsdio and/or interface and fire up fldigi. the messages should be gone.

A note for reference: don't change the usb port or the connections once set up. OS-X will always try to associate any serial device as a network interface if it detects a change. Ty-Raps with tags will help keep things straight. use the screws to keep connections tight and use the common single point ground to eliminaste RF in signal cables. You may find the need for some ferrites on the usb cables too.

Bart,

You failed to specify if you updated the Keyspan driver for Snow Leopard?
You have to use the correct driver installed or it will not work.

I will try mailing keyspanUSAdrvr.pkg.zip for the USA-19HS to
<ba-***@public.gmane.org>

The USA driver supports your USA-19; however, I do not see that device
option in fldigi¹s Hamlib devices options. Maybe it will show up in your
option once you have the new driver installed. If not try the USA28 option
in fldigi.

Sorry I cannot help you with the microHAM. I have never seen one

Thanks, Dick, will install and try asap. BTW, I am using SignaLink USB. I've never seen a microHAM either. When I tested it with the Windows program it showed about 8 ppm deviation on both send and receive. Is this credible, or should I look for another way to calibrate?

Thanks for the driver.
