I can't get it to work properly at all, on either computer! 1.3.16 works fine on both, but 1.3.17 every time it polls it sets all the sliders to 0! I'm running a TS-570 with an RT-Systems USB Serial cable that works fine with the previous versions on both windows and linux on both computers! It also won't remember the frequency the radio was left on and wipes out the memory settings! I have tried changing every setting there is independently with no luck, the only thing I can do is turn off the polling, which means I may as well run the old version! Anyone got any ideas?

I would rename the TS-570 prefs file, and start over. Then you can see
the source of the problem.

I don't see how that could be the problem, as the linux and windows versions are on 2 separate drives and don't share anything.

It's not that, the linux version overwrites all of that when the new version installs... The windows version installs and leaves the old version intact, the strange thing is both versions use the same data files, yet the old versions stays working and the new version won't... it has to be in the source code... I may be able to figure it out for the linux version, but since the windows version is in a setup program there's nothing I can do with it...

I did try your suggestion, the program crashes without that file. So I uninstalled the new version and reinstalled it without the prefs file, and it still does the same thing. There is something wrong with the files files the TS-570 in the source code. I've played around with it a little in linux with no luck. The only way to get it to stop is to set the polling to 0, which means I might as well look for another program! I even tried pulling the TS-570.cxx files in from 1.3.16 and recompiling it, it still acted weird? And now I have another problem, I had to reinstall linux and lost my only copy of 1.3.16 and can't find anywhere to download it.

I treied to find the prefs file in Linux, and as far as I can tell there isn't one. The search turns up nothing.

You need to turn on "show hidden files" in your file manager.

I have it set to show hidden files. As far as I can tell the Linux version doesn't make prefs files...

Most certainly does. Mine is

/home/ed/.flrig

and you should see a file named whatever your rig is .prefs

There it is... Doing a search didn't find it, but now I know where it's supposed to be... I can look at the file with a text editor...

Hi
On mine it did, but I built mine locally, but have downloaded bin before
and had it work. Have
you filled out the first you get when first executed and saved those
items you filled in, like your
name location and such? The important thing is to do saves, on all, that
is when the files are created
I think, so it can be called up when next launched.

Hi

In home directory is a directory .fldigi or .flrig, note the dot
before the name. This mean it is
hidden, if using one of the file managers under view tick the show
hidden files to have them show up.

Ctrl-H in your home directory will show hidden files - look for the .fldigi
directory, you'll find the prefs.xml file there.

I would suggest looking at the list of changes and see if there is
something that could relate to your particular setup.

>From my own experience so far fldigi 3.22.00/flrig 1.3.17 is working
fine with my FT-950 and a USB->serial cable, of course I may still find
something as I experiment further.

Is there some debug output you can see? Or maybe start from a terminal
and keep it open to see if anything shows up.

I have a TS850S and it was working fine with 1.3.16 as well (with the
same adapter).
And with 1.3.17 is is not working.
It does not change frequency until I shut down and that is about all it
will do.

Hi Larry,

I had a problem in the Widows version of FLDigi 3.22.00 with my
TS-2000 because I had "use separate comport" checked under
"hardware PTT" once I unchecked that I was good. With the old
3.21.xx it didn't cause a problem. I haven't built 3.22.00 in
Linux, I'm waiting for the next release.

I am talking about flrig not fldigi and I don't have this checked in flrig.
